The MERIT BRASS XB114-1206 is a brass pipe bushing designed to reduce a 3/4-inch female threaded port down to a 3/8-inch female threaded connection. It features male BSPT threads on the outer end and female BSPT threads on the inner end, allowing it to serve as a reducer fitting within a threaded piping system. Rated Class 125, this bushing is suited for low-to-moderate pressure plumbing and fluid-handling applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting where pipe size transitions are required within an existing threaded assembly. The all-brass construction resists corrosion and holds up in wet service environments.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems, hydronic heating lines, compressed air distribution, and general fluid transfer piping. It is a standard hexagonal hex bushing profile, which allows installation and tightening with a wrench without requiring pipe wrenches on both ends. Typical applications include boiler piping, manifold assemblies, pump connections, and any threaded piping run where a 3/4-inch to 3/8-inch reduction is needed in a compact, inline format.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-service brass pipe bushing for threaded plumbing and fluid-handling systems requiring a 3/4-inch to 3/8-inch threaded reduction at Class 125 rating.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the affected line before installing or replacing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to a snug, wrench-tight fit. Do not overtighten brass threaded fittings, as brass threads can deform under excessive torque.
