The MERIT BRASS XB111-12 is a Class 125 brass pipe coupling designed for threaded pipe connections in plumbing, HVAC, and light industrial piping systems. It features female British Standard Pipe Taper (FBSPT) threads on both ends, allowing two sections of male-threaded pipe to be joined in a straight run. The 3/4-inch fitting size suits a wide range of residential and commercial applications. At 0.286 pounds, the coupling is compact and easy to handle during installation. Brass construction provides solid corrosion resistance and reliable sealing performance in both wet and dry service conditions.
This coupling is suited for use in water supply lines, hydronic heating systems, compressed air distribution, and general-purpose threaded piping assemblies. The FBSPT x FBSPT configuration makes it a direct-connect fitting for joining two male-threaded pipe ends without additional adapters. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC mechanics commonly use this style of coupling when extending or repairing existing threaded pipe runs in both new construction and retrofit work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting for 3/4-inch male-threaded pipe systems using Class 125 brass couplings in standard plumbing and HVAC piping configurations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off water supply or depressurize the system before beginning work. Apply thread sealant tape or paste to the male pipe threads before hand-tightening, then wrench-tighten to achieve a leak-free seal. Do not overtighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive force.
