The MERIT BRASS XB111-02 is a Class 125 threaded brass pipe coupling designed for joining two female-threaded pipe segments in low-pressure plumbing and fluid distribution systems. Sized at 1/8 inch with FBSPT x FBSPT end connections, this coupling provides a reliable, leak-resistant joint when properly installed with thread sealant or tape. The all-brass construction offers good corrosion resistance in water, air, and compatible fluid service. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on residential and light commercial systems are the primary installers of this fitting.
This coupling is suited for low-pressure applications including water supply lines, compressed air distribution, fuel gas service where brass fittings are approved, and instrumentation lines. The 1/8-inch size is commonly found in branch connections, gauge ports, and pilot line assemblies. Its Class 125 pressure rating aligns with standard low-pressure system requirements in both residential and light commercial installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 1/8-inch threaded pipe systems rated at Class 125 or equivalent low-pressure service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified tradesperson in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASME B16.15 standards for cast brass fittings. Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before threading in the coupling. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male pipe threads before making up the joint. Do not overtighten, as brass threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
