The MERIT BRASS XB103-12 is a 90-degree street elbow fitting designed for threaded brass pipe systems. It connects using female British Standard Pipe Taper (FBSPT) on one end and male British Standard Pipe Taper (MBSPT) on the other, allowing a direction change directly at a fitting without requiring an additional coupling. Rated Class 125, this elbow is built for low-to-moderate pressure service in water, air, and general fluid distribution lines. At 0.308 pounds, it is a compact, single-piece brass fitting suited for close-quarter installations where space is limited. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers.
This street elbow is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC condensate and water supply lines, compressed air distribution, and general fluid service applications. The 3/4-inch size fits standard 3/4-inch threaded pipe runs. The street configuration eliminates one fitting and one connection point compared to a standard elbow-plus-nipple approach, reducing potential leak points in tight installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 3/4-inch threaded brass pipe systems rated at Class 125 service conditions.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters. Shut off the water or air supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten brass threaded fittings, as brass is softer than iron and susceptible to cracking under excessive torque.
