The MERIT BRASS XB103-06 is a brass 90-degree street elbow designed for threaded pipe connections in plumbing, HVAC, and general fluid-handling systems. It features female British Standard Pipe Taper (FBSPT) on one end and male British Standard Pipe Taper (MBSPT) on the other, allowing a street configuration that eliminates the need for an additional coupling when changing direction. Rated Class 125, this fitting is suited for moderate-pressure service in water, oil, and gas applications. At 3/8-inch fitting size, it is commonly used in tight-space installations where a compact directional change is required.
This street elbow fits standard 3/8-inch threaded pipe runs in residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC systems. The street configuration — combining a female and male threaded end — allows it to thread directly into another fitting or valve body, making it a practical choice when routing pipe through confined spaces or when building compact manifold assemblies. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians routinely use this type of fitting during new construction and service replacement work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/8-inch threaded pipe systems using Class 125 brass fittings in plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-handling applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the supply line before disassembling any existing connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to all threaded joints before assembly, and tighten to snug-plus-hand-tight without over-torquing brass threads. Inspect for leaks after returning the system to service pressure.
