The MERIT BRASS XB103-02 is a 90-degree street elbow fitting machined from brass, designed for use in threaded pipe systems. It connects via female British Standard Pipe Taper (FBSPT) on one end and male British Standard Pipe Taper (MBSPT) on the other, allowing a direction change of 90 degrees without requiring a separate coupling. The fitting is rated Class 125 and sized at 1/8 inch. It is commonly installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on low-pressure water, fuel gas distribution, and general-purpose fluid systems where a compact, durable threaded fitting is required.
This street elbow is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing applications where a 90-degree turn must be made directly off a threaded male fitting without adding a nipple. The 1/8-inch size is frequently used in instrumentation lines, pilot gas lines, and small-diameter branch connections. Its FBSPT x MBSPT end configuration makes it a space-saving option in tight installations where back-to-back fittings would be impractical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/8-inch threaded brass pipe systems rated at Class 125 or lower pressure service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten brass fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
