The MERIT BRASS XB101-02 is a brass pipe 90 degree elbow fitting designed for low-pressure threaded pipe systems. It connects two pipe runs at a right angle using female British Standard Pipe Taper (FBSPT) threads on both ends. Rated Class 125, this fitting is suited for general-purpose plumbing, gas distribution, and fluid handling lines where a reliable, leak-resistant threaded connection is required. The 1/8 inch fitting size makes it appropriate for small-diameter branch lines and instrument connections. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting as part of routine rough-in and service work.
This elbow is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC condensate and refrigerant oil drain lines, compressed air distribution, and low-pressure gas piping applications. Its Class 125 pressure rating aligns with standard service conditions found in building mechanical systems. The 1/8 inch size is commonly found at gauge ports, pilot gas lines, and small-bore instrument tap connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation threaded brass fitting for 1/8 inch pipe systems requiring a 90 degree elbow with FBSPT connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and IFGC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembling or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten brass fittings, as the material can crack under excessive torque.
