The MERIT BRASS MB70000 is a 1-piece, full-port ball valve designed for shutoff and flow control in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Built with a copper body and a stainless steel lever handle, this valve connects via push-to-connect press ends, eliminating the need for soldering or threading at installation. It carries a maximum working pressure of 300 psi and a maximum working temperature of 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of potable water and hydronic applications. The EPDM seal material provides reliable seating across the rated temperature range. This valve is certified lead-free and meets IAPMO Z1157 and NSF-61/372 standards.
The MB70000 is used in residential plumbing installations, light commercial water distribution, and hydronic heating systems where a reliable shutoff is required at 1/2 inch pipe connections. The push-to-connect press end style suits applications where flame-free installation is preferred or required, such as near finished materials or in retrofit situations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this valve type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation ball valve for 1/2 inch copper tube systems using press-style push-to-connect fittings, with a tube outside diameter of 0.965 inches.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC requirements. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installing or replacing this valve. Verify that the pipe outside diameter matches the press connection specification before seating the fitting. Do not exceed the rated working pressure or temperature limits stated on the valve.
