The MERIT BRASS MB11350 is a 1/2-inch copper 90-degree street elbow designed for press-to-connect and solder end connections. This fitting allows a directional change in copper piping systems using a push-to-connect press end on one side and a solder-cup end on the other, eliminating the need for threading on the press side. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 300 psi and a maximum temperature of 250 degrees F, making it suitable for both hot and cold water supply lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. The fitting is lead-free and meets IAPMO PS117 and NSF-61/372 standards, covering drinking water contact applications.
The MB11350 is used in copper piping runs where a 90-degree directional change is needed and a street configuration is required. A street elbow has one male end and one female end, allowing it to connect directly into another fitting without a short nipple. The press-by-solder connection style makes it useful in retrofit and new-construction scenarios where one connection point benefits from a tool-pressed mechanical joint and the other is sweated in using standard copper solder technique. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting into an existing line. The press end requires a manufacturer-approved pressing tool for a leak-free mechanical joint; do not attempt to seat the press ring without the proper tool. The solder end should be cleaned, fluxed, and sweated using standard copper-to-copper technique before restoring system pressure.
