The MERIT BRASS K614-2006 is a threaded pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/4 inch female port down to a 3/8 inch male connection. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, it delivers strong corrosion resistance in demanding environments including chemical exposure, salt water, and high-moisture applications. The bushing measures 1-3/16 inches in length and carries a pressure rating of 150 psi. It connects via MNPT on the male end and FNPT on the female end, conforming to ISO threading standards. Plumbers and pipefitters use this fitting to adapt pipe sizes within a threaded system without additional fittings.
This bushing is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, process piping, and industrial fluid handling systems where a hex bushing reduction is required between threaded pipe runs. The 316 stainless steel construction makes it a preferred choice in corrosive or sanitary service environments, including marine, food processing, and chemical distribution piping. It installs into any standard NPT-threaded port and is sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install fitting for any threaded piping system using standard NPT connections with a 1-1/4 inch to 3/8 inch reduction requirement.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off and depressurize the affected line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, following IPC guidelines for the service fluid type. Do not overtighten stainless steel threaded fittings, as galling can occur; use a calibrated pipe wrench and standard fitting practices.
