The MERIT BRASS K612-2006 is a threaded pipe reducer fitting designed to connect a 1-1/4 inch female NPT port to a 3/8 inch female NPT port in a single inline transition. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, this reducer resists corrosion in aggressive fluid and process environments. It carries a 150 psi pressure rating and conforms to ISO standards. The fitting measures 1-29/32 inches in length and weighs 0.51 pounds. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting where line size must be reduced between two threaded female connections.
This reducer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, process piping, and fluid transfer systems where a reduction from 1-1/4 inch to 3/8 inch pipe is required. The FNPT x FNPT configuration means both ends accept male-threaded pipe or fittings, making it compatible with standard NPT-threaded components in water, chemical, and industrial fluid lines. The 316 stainless steel construction makes it a practical choice in corrosive or sanitary service conditions where carbon steel or brass fittings are not appropriate.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install threaded pipe reducer for standard NPT piping systems requiring a 1-1/4 inch to 3/8 inch female-to-female inline size transition.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing any existing fitting or making new connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads being joined to this fitting. Do not overtighten threaded stainless steel fittings, as galling of the threads can occur if torque is applied beyond hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns.
