The MERIT BRASS K611H-32 is a 2-inch pipe half coupling designed for threaded plumbing and piping systems that require corrosion-resistant fittings. Manufactured from 316 stainless steel, this half coupling accepts female NPT (FNPT) connections and is rated to 150 psi. The half coupling configuration allows one threaded end connection to a pipe, making it suited for branch connections, pipe extensions, and repairs where a full coupling is not required. It meets ISO standards and is appropriate for use in industrial, commercial, and mechanical piping applications where material compatibility and pressure integrity are required.
This fitting is used in plumbing, process piping, and mechanical systems where 316 stainless steel is specified for its resistance to corrosion and elevated temperatures. Typical applications include chemical handling lines, marine environments, food-service piping, and any installation where standard carbon steel or brass fittings are not suitable. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes such as the IPC or ASME B31 piping standards. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before making or breaking any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service media before threading the fitting onto the mating pipe. Do not over-torque threaded stainless steel fittings, as galling can occur on stainless threads.
