The MERIT BRASS K610-64 is a 4-inch, four-way pipe cross fitting manufactured from 316 stainless steel and rated for service up to 150 psi. It features female NPT (FNPT) end connections on all four ports, providing a threaded interface suitable for joining branch lines in fluid distribution piping systems. At 7.5625 inches in length and weighing 7.93 pounds, this is a heavy-duty fitting sized for larger-diameter pipework. Plumbers and pipefitters working on industrial or commercial installations use this fitting where a single inline run must branch in two perpendicular directions simultaneously.
This cross fitting is suited for use in commercial and industrial piping systems where corrosion resistance is a priority, such as chemical processing lines, marine environments, food-service plumbing, or other applications where 316 stainless steel is specified over standard carbon steel or 304 alloys. The FNPT connections accept standard tapered pipe threads, making it compatible with threaded pipe and fittings of the same nominal size following ANSI and ASME B1.20.1 thread standards.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded pipe fitting for use in 4-inch nominal FNPT piping systems where 316 stainless steel material and 150 psi ratings are required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes including ASME B31.3 for process piping or local plumbing codes where applicable. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and hand-tighten before using a pipe wrench to bring the joint to proper engagement. Do not over-torque threaded stainless steel connections, as galling can occur on stainless-to-stainless assemblies.
