The MERIT BRASS K610-02 is a 1/8-inch four-way pipe cross fitting machined from 316 stainless steel. It uses female National Pipe Taper (FNPT) threaded connections on all four ports, allowing inline branching in small-bore piping systems. At a 150 psi pressure rating and manufactured to ISO standards, this fitting is built for dependable service in corrosive or high-purity environments. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this type of fitting where a single line must branch in two directions simultaneously. The 316 stainless steel alloy offers improved resistance to chlorides and oxidizing media compared to 304-grade material, making it a reliable choice in chemical, marine, and food-service piping applications.
This cross fitting is suited for small-bore threaded piping systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. Typical applications include instrument tubing, chemical feed lines, compressed air headers, and process piping where corrosion resistance is a priority. The 1/8-inch size is commonly used for pilot lines, gauge connections, and low-flow distribution points. The FNPT thread form is compatible with standard NPT fittings and pipe, making integration into existing systems straightforward for any licensed plumber or pipefitter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 1/8-inch FNPT threaded piping systems using standard NPT pipe and fittings.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local piping codes. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before assembly, and tighten to hand-snug plus a wrench-assisted turn — do not overtighten stainless steel fittings, as galling of threads is possible. Pressure-test the completed assembly before returning the system to service.
