The MERIT BRASS K414-2002 is a threaded pipe bushing designed to reduce a 1-1/4 inch female port down to a 1/8 inch male connection. Constructed from 304 stainless steel, it offers solid corrosion resistance for use in plumbing, industrial piping, and process fluid systems. The bushing connects via MNPT on the smaller end and FNPT on the larger end, making it a standard hex-style reducer for joining mismatched pipe sizes. It carries a 150 psi pressure rating and is manufactured to ISO standards. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in both new construction and retrofit applications.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial piping systems where a step-down reduction from 1-1/4 inch to 1/8 inch is required. Typical applications include instrumentation taps, gauge ports, drain connections, and low-flow branch lines in water, air, and compatible fluid systems. The 304 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for environments where mild corrosion resistance is needed, such as food service rough-in, marine-adjacent installations, or chemical-light process lines.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded pipe bushing for use in standard NPT piping systems requiring a 1-1/4 inch to 1/8 inch reduction in 304 stainless steel.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before makeup. Do not overtighten threaded stainless steel fittings, as galling of the threads can occur if excessive torque is applied without proper lubrication or sealant.
