The MERIT BRASS C114-1208 is a brass pipe bushing designed to reduce a 3/4 inch male NPT connection down to a 1/2 inch female NPT port. It is rated Class 125, making it suitable for low- to medium-pressure plumbing, gas distribution, and fluid-handling systems. The bushing threads directly into a female fitting or valve body on the larger end and accepts a male-threaded pipe or fitting on the smaller end. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of reducer bushing when transitioning between pipe sizes within a threaded assembly. The all-brass construction resists corrosion and withstands the demands of water, air, and compatible fluid service.
This bushing is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, compressed air lines, and general industrial piping where a threaded pipe size reduction is required. It is well suited for installation in supply lines, manifold assemblies, and valve stations where a 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch transition is needed without adding additional fittings to the run.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard NPT threaded plumbing and piping systems requiring a 3/4 inch to 1/2 inch threaded reduction.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters working with threaded pipe systems. Shut off and depressurize the line before removing or installing any fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or pipe compound to the male threads per applicable plumbing code requirements such as the IPC or IFGC before making up the joint. Do not over-torque brass fittings, as brass threads are softer than steel and can be damaged by excessive force.
