The MERIT BRASS C114-1206 is a brass pipe bushing designed to reduce a 3/4 inch male NPT fitting down to a 3/8 inch female NPT port. It carries a Class 125 pressure rating and is machined from brass for corrosion resistance in wet and gas service environments. This bushing installs directly into a female-threaded fitting, valve, or equipment port and accepts a smaller male-threaded pipe or fitting on the outlet side. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians use hex bushings like this to adapt mismatched pipe sizes without adding extra unions or couplings to the line.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, compressed air, and gas distribution systems where a threaded size reduction is required at a connection point. The MNPT x FNPT configuration allows the fitting to thread into an existing port while receiving a smaller-diameter pipe or nipple on the inside. It is a common service item carried on service trucks for field repairs and system modifications where reducing bushings are needed on short notice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and service fitting for residential and commercial threaded pipe systems using standard NPT connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements for gas service. Shut off and depressurize the line before threading in the bushing. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before installation. Do not overtighten, as brass fittings can crack under excessive torque.
