The MERIT BRASS C103-16 is a 1-inch brass 90-degree street elbow designed for threaded pipe systems. It connects using female NPT (FNPT) on one end and male NPT (MNPT) on the other, allowing a direction change at a fitting-to-fitting connection without a coupling. Rated Class 125, this elbow is suited for low-to-medium pressure applications in water, oil, and gas distribution lines. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during rough-in and service work on residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems. The brass construction resists corrosion and provides reliable performance in wet service environments.
This street elbow is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, heating, and compressed-air piping systems where a 90-degree direction change is needed inline. The FNPT x MNPT end configuration allows it to thread directly into a female-threaded fitting or valve body on one side while accepting a female-threaded component on the other, reducing the need for additional couplings. Typical applications include water supply, fuel gas distribution, and general-purpose piping assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 1-inch NPT threaded pipe assemblies in residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic, and gas piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters. Shut off the water or gas supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply thread sealant tape or paste rated for the service medium to all male threads before assembly. Follow applicable IPC or IFGC requirements for the piping system and service type.
