The MERIT BRASS C103-12 is a 90-degree street elbow fitting designed for threaded brass pipe systems. It features a female NPT (FNPT) inlet on one end and a male NPT (MNPT) outlet on the other, allowing a direct change of direction without the need for a separate coupling. Rated Class 125, this elbow is suited for moderate-pressure piping applications in water, air, and compatible fluid service. The all-brass construction provides corrosion resistance and long service life. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in residential and commercial systems where a compact, single-piece street configuration is required.
This fitting is used in threaded brass pipe assemblies across residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic piping, compressed air distribution, and general fluid handling. The street elbow design eliminates one threaded joint compared to a standard elbow-plus-nipple assembly, saving space in tight installations. It is appropriate for systems operating within Class 125 pressure ratings where brass fittings are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/4 inch threaded brass pipe systems using NPT connections.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the system before disassembling any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten to hand-snug plus the number of turns recommended by the sealant manufacturer. Do not overtighten brass fittings, as the material is susceptible to cracking under excessive torque.
