The MERIT BRASS C103-06 is a 90-degree street elbow designed for threaded pipe systems in plumbing, HVAC, and light industrial applications. This brass fitting connects a female NPT (FNPT) inlet to a male NPT (MNPT) outlet, allowing a 90-degree directional change within a piping run without the need for a separate nipple. Rated at Class 125, it is suited for moderate-pressure service in water, oil, and gas lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during rough-in and retrofit work. At 0.15 pounds, it is a compact, single-piece brass component built for standard 3/8-inch pipe threads.
The C103-06 is used in residential and light commercial piping systems where a compact directional change is needed at a 3/8-inch thread point. Typical applications include water supply lines, compressed air distribution, fuel gas piping, and hydronic heating connections. Its street configuration — FNPT on one end, MNPT on the other — allows it to thread directly into another fitting without an intermediate nipple, reducing the overall assembly length and part count in tight spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 3/8-inch NPT threaded pipe systems in plumbing, HVAC, and light industrial piping assemblies.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC depending on service type. Shut off and depressurize the line before disassembling or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten brass threaded fittings, as brass is susceptible to thread damage under excessive torque.
