The MERIT BRASS 8032-350 is a 6061 aluminum pipe nipple threaded on both ends, rated Schedule 40, and sized at 2 inches nominal diameter by 3.5 inches in length. It is designed for use in piping systems where corrosion resistance and light weight are required, such as compressed air, water distribution, and industrial fluid transfer lines. The 6061 aluminum alloy delivers solid strength while keeping the assembly lightweight compared to steel alternatives. This nipple is suitable for plumbing, industrial maintenance, and mechanical piping work performed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters.
This pipe nipple is commonly used in residential and commercial mechanical systems where aluminum piping is specified. Typical applications include compressed air distribution, low-pressure fluid lines, and process piping assemblies. The Schedule 40 wall thickness makes it suitable for moderate-pressure service. OSHA-recognized standards compliance supports its use in workplace and industrial environments. It is sold individually and is well suited for maintenance, repair, and new-construction piping projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard NPT-threaded Schedule 40 aluminum piping systems of 2 inch nominal diameter.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local mechanical codes. Shut off and depressurize the line fully before removing or installing any threaded pipe fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for use with aluminum fittings to prevent galling and ensure a leak-free seal. Avoid over-torquing aluminum fittings, as the material is softer than steel and threads can be damaged with excessive force.
