The MERIT BRASS 8012-150 is a 6061 aluminum pipe nipple designed for threaded piping systems in industrial and mechanical applications. Threaded on both ends and manufactured to Schedule 40 wall thickness, this nipple provides a reliable, corrosion-resistant connection point in piping runs where steel is unsuitable or excess weight is a concern. The 6061 aluminum alloy delivers good strength and machinability for a wide range of fluid and gas service conditions. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this nipple as a close or extension fitting between threaded pipe components, valves, and fittings.
This nipple is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems where 3/4-inch NPT threaded connections are required. Its aluminum construction makes it a practical choice in environments prone to moisture or where galvanic concerns limit the use of ferrous fittings. The 1-1/2-inch body length positions it as a close nipple for tight-clearance installations. It meets OSHA standards and carries the UNSPSC commodity code 40173300 for industrial pipe fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/4-inch NPT threaded piping systems requiring Schedule 40 aluminum pipe nipples.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC or IFGC requirements for the service medium. Shut off the fluid or gas supply and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten aluminum fittings, as the alloy is softer than steel and threads can be damaged by excessive torque.
