The MERIT BRASS 6532-2400 is a seamless stainless steel pipe nipple designed for demanding piping applications where corrosion resistance and pressure integrity are critical. Built to Schedule 80 wall thickness and manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel, this nipple delivers greater wall strength than Schedule 40 and offers superior resistance to chlorides and acidic media compared to Grade 304. Sized at 2 inches nominal pipe size, it is suited for use in commercial and industrial fluid systems. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting in corrosive process lines, chemical transfer systems, and high-pressure service runs.
This nipple is a standard component in systems handling corrosive fluids, steam, saltwater, or chemical solutions where carbon steel would be unsuitable. The Grade 316 alloy with its molybdenum content makes it a preferred choice for coastal installations, marine environments, food processing piping, and chemical plant utility lines. The seamless construction eliminates weld seams, which reduces potential failure points under cyclic pressure or thermal stress. It fits into any standard 2-inch NPT threaded connection and is commonly used in both new construction and maintenance-and-repair work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 2-inch NPT threaded piping systems in commercial and industrial plumbing and process piping applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or local mechanical codes. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Use an appropriate thread sealant rated for stainless steel and the media being conveyed. Avoid over-torquing threaded connections, which can crack fittings or strip threads.
