The MERIT BRASS 6512-7200 is a stainless steel pipe nipple built for demanding piping installations where corrosion resistance and pressure integrity are required. Constructed from Grade 316 stainless steel using a seamless process, this nipple meets Schedule 80 wall thickness requirements, giving it higher pressure ratings compared to standard Schedule 40 fittings. At 9 pounds, it is suited for applications where a robust, heavy-duty threaded connection is needed. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this type of nipple in corrosive or high-pressure service lines where standard carbon steel or brass fittings are not appropriate.
This nipple is used in residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC piping systems, industrial process lines, and chemical handling applications where Grade 316 stainless steel is specified for its superior resistance to chlorides and oxidizing environments. Schedule 80 construction makes it appropriate for higher-pressure service runs. It threads directly into standard NPT fittings, valves, and flanges where a 3/4 inch pipe connection is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation threaded nipple for 3/4 inch NPT piping systems requiring Schedule 80, Grade 316 stainless steel pipe components.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded pipe component. Use appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for stainless steel and the service fluid being handled. Do not over-torque threaded connections, as stainless steel threads can gall if excess force is applied.
