The MERIT BRASS 6506-350 is a seamless stainless steel pipe nipple designed for use in demanding fluid and gas piping systems. Manufactured from Grade 316/316L stainless steel, it delivers strong resistance to corrosion and elevated-temperature service, making it a reliable choice for chemical, industrial, and plumbing applications. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides greater pressure capacity compared to standard Schedule 40 fittings. At 3/8 inch pipe size with matching 3/8 inch thread, this nipple is sized for compact line runs and branch connections. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in both new construction and retrofit work.
This pipe nipple is suited for residential and commercial piping systems where corrosion resistance is a priority. Typical applications include steam lines, chemical process piping, marine installations, food-service plumbing, and anywhere standard carbon steel or brass fittings would be vulnerable to aggressive media or moisture. The seamless construction eliminates weld seams, reducing the risk of leak points under pressure or thermal cycling. It fits inline or as a close extension between two threaded fittings or valves in a 3/8 inch threaded pipe system.
Designed as a standard NPT-threaded replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/8 inch threaded pipe systems requiring Schedule 80 stainless steel components.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service media before making up the joint. Do not over-torque stainless steel NPT threads, as galling can permanently damage the fitting or mating connection.
