The MERIT BRASS 6502-2400 is a seamless stainless steel pipe nipple designed for use in pressurized piping systems where corrosion resistance and mechanical strength are critical. Built to Grade 316 stainless steel and Schedule 80 wall thickness, this nipple delivers greater pressure ratings than standard Schedule 40 fittings. The seamless construction eliminates weld seams, reducing potential failure points in demanding service environments. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial mechanical contractors install this fitting in process, chemical, and high-moisture applications where carbon steel or brass fittings would be inadequate.
This pipe nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic systems, chemical process lines, marine installations, and other applications requiring Grade 316 stainless steel corrosion resistance. The 1/8 inch pipe size makes it a common choice for instrument connections, control line branches, and low-flow service points. Its Schedule 80 wall thickness supports higher operating pressures compared to lighter-schedule alternatives.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1/8 inch NPT threaded pipe systems using Schedule 80 fittings in Grade 316 stainless steel service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or IFGC codes. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant rated for stainless steel and the intended service fluid. Avoid over-torquing small-diameter nipples, as this can crack or gall the threads.
