The MERIT BRASS 635-12 is a threaded pipe flange machined from Grade 316 stainless steel, designed for 3/4 inch pipe connections in plumbing, process piping, and industrial fluid systems. With an outside diameter of 3-7/8 inches and a four-bolt hole pattern centered at 2-3/4 inches across bolt hole centers, this flange meets 150 psi pressure class requirements. Each bolt hole measures 5/8 inches in diameter. Grade 316 stainless offers superior corrosion resistance compared to 304, making it well suited for chloride-exposed environments, marine installations, and chemical service lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of flange in both residential and light commercial systems.
This threaded flange is used in 3/4 inch pipe assemblies where a bolted flange connection is required at a valve, pump, or equipment interface. The threaded end accepts standard NPT pipe without welding, making it practical for field installations where hot work is restricted or impractical. It is commonly found in water treatment, food service, and industrial process piping where stainless steel is specified for sanitary or corrosion-resistance reasons. The circular flange face and standard 150-class bolt pattern allow pairing with matching flanges, gaskets, and fasteners from other manufacturers following the same standard.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation threaded flange for 3/4 inch NPT pipe systems operating within 150 psi pressure class service requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or ASME B31 piping codes. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any flange. Thread the flange onto the pipe to the correct engagement depth before torquing flange bolts in a cross pattern to ensure even gasket compression. Do not over-tighten the threaded connection, as this can stress the flange body or distort the sealing face.
