The MERIT BRASS 6024-6000 is a welded stainless steel pipe nipple rated for 1-1/2 inch pipe in Grade 316/316L material at Schedule 40 wall thickness. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and local mechanical code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded pipe fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service fluid before making up the joint. Do not over-torque threaded stainless fittings, as galling can occur on stainless-to-stainless connections without proper lubrication or anti-seize compound.
