The MERIT BRASS 6020-4800 is a welded stainless steel pipe nipple sized for 1-1/4 inch pipe, manufactured from Grade 316 and 316L stainless steel to Schedule 40 wall thickness. Pipe nipples are short threaded sections of pipe used to connect two female-threaded fittings or valves in a piping run. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1-1/4 inch NPT threaded piping systems using Schedule 40 pipe and fittings.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the service environment. Shut off and depressurize the affected piping system before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the media being conveyed. Do not overtighten threaded connections, as stainless steel threads are susceptible to galling.
