The MERIT BRASS 4532-4800 is a Schedule 80 seamless stainless steel pipe nipple sized for 2-inch pipe, manufactured from Grade 304 stainless steel. Pipe nipples are short threaded fittings used to connect two female-threaded components in a piping system — valves, couplings, flanges, or other fittings. Schedule 80 wall thickness provides extra strength and pressure capability compared to standard Schedule 40, making this nipple well suited for demanding industrial, commercial, and mechanical piping applications. Grade 304 stainless steel delivers solid corrosion resistance across a wide range of environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
This nipple is used in plumbing, process piping, HVAC hydronic systems, and industrial fluid handling where stainless steel is specified for corrosion resistance or sanitary requirements. The 2-inch pipe size fits standard Class 150 threaded connections. Its seamless construction means there is no weld seam, which reduces potential weak points and improves consistency in high-pressure or high-cycle applications. Typical install scenarios include mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, chemical transfer lines, and food-service or light industrial piping runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 2-inch NPT threaded pipe connections in Schedule 80 stainless steel piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off and de-pressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for stainless steel and the intended service fluid. Do not over-torque threaded stainless steel fittings, as galling can occur — use a properly sized pipe wrench and follow applicable IPC or ASME B31 piping code guidelines for joint assembly.
