The MERIT BRASS 4506-6000 is a stainless steel pipe nipple designed for threaded piping systems in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial fluid-handling applications. Manufactured from Grade 304 stainless steel with seamless construction, this nipple delivers consistent wall thickness and reliable pressure performance in demanding service environments. The Schedule 80 wall thickness provides added strength over standard Schedule 40 fittings, making it suitable for higher-pressure lines and corrosion-prone installations. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use this type of nipple to extend, connect, or offset threaded pipe runs in both new construction and retrofit work.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial installations where corrosion resistance is a priority, such as chemical lines, steam service, potable water systems, and marine or coastal environments. Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable IPC and ASME B31 piping code requirements. Isolate and depressurize the line and drain all fluid before threading the nipple into service. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape rated for the service fluid before assembly. Do not over-torque threaded connections on stainless fittings, as galling can occur without proper lubrication or anti-seize compound.
