The MERIT BRASS 3603D-06 is a 90-degree street elbow fitting designed for threaded pipe systems operating at pressures up to 3,000 psi. Constructed from 316/316L stainless steel, this fitting offers strong resistance to corrosion and elevated temperatures, making it a reliable choice for demanding industrial and commercial piping applications. The FNPT x MNPT end connections allow direct in-line installation without additional adapters. At 3/8 inch fitting size, it suits smaller-diameter pipe runs where directional changes are required. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This street elbow is suited for use in chemical processing, marine, oil and gas, food service, and high-pressure fluid handling systems where 316 or 316L stainless steel is specified for its corrosion resistance. The threaded FNPT x MNPT configuration allows it to connect directly to a standard male-threaded pipe on one end and a female-threaded fitting or valve on the other, enabling compact directional changes in tight spaces. It is appropriate for both new construction and retrofit piping work where a 3/8 inch 90-degree directional change is needed.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/8 inch threaded pipe systems requiring a 90-degree directional change in 316 or 316L stainless steel construction.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical and plumbing codes, including IPC and IFGC guidelines where relevant. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before removing any existing fitting or making new connections. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten to a proper fit using a pipe wrench without over-torquing, which can crack or distort fittings. Verify system pressure integrity after installation before returning the line to service.
