The MERIT BRASS 3602D-02 is a 45-degree pipe elbow fitting designed for threaded piping systems operating at high pressure. Constructed from 316 and 316L stainless steel, it offers strong corrosion resistance in demanding fluid handling and process piping applications. The fitting connects via female NPT threads on both ends and carries a pressure rating of 3,000 psi. At 0.26 pounds, it is compact and lightweight for a 1/8 inch fitting. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers, working in industrial, commercial, and mechanical system environments where reliable directional changes in pipe runs are required.
This fitting is used in high-pressure fluid systems where a 45-degree directional change is needed in a 1/8 inch threaded line. The 316 and 316L stainless steel construction makes it a practical choice for installations exposed to moisture, mild chemicals, or corrosive environments. It is suited for process piping, hydraulic lines, compressed gas systems, and similar applications found in commercial and light industrial settings. Both end connections are FNPT, making it compatible with standard male NPT threaded pipe and fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded pipe fitting for 1/8 inch female NPT piping systems requiring a 45-degree elbow connection in high-pressure service.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC and ASME B31 piping codes. Depressurize and drain the system fully before removing or installing any fitting. Apply a suitable thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male NPT threads before assembly and tighten to the fitting manufacturer's recommended engagement, avoiding over-torquing stainless steel threads to prevent galling. Verify system pressure does not exceed the 3,000 psi rating of this fitting after returning the line to service.
