The MERIT BRASS 3412D-2412 is a threaded pipe reducer fitting machined from 304/304L stainless steel. It reduces a 1-1/2 inch female NPT port down to a 3/4 inch female NPT port, making it a direct inline size transition for piping systems that require a step-down connection without changing fitting orientation. Rated to 3,000 psi, it handles high-pressure service in demanding installations. The 304/304L dual-grade material provides corrosion resistance suitable for a broad range of fluids and environments. Plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians install this fitting in both new construction and retrofit applications.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable IPC and ASME B31 piping code requirements. Apply PTFE tape or an appropriate pipe thread sealant to the male NPT threads being engaged; do not apply sealant inside the female ports. Tighten to hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns for the pipe size — do not overtighten stainless steel threads to avoid galling.
