The MERIT BRASS 2120-200 is a Schedule 40 seamless red brass nipple used to extend or connect threaded piping runs in commercial and residential plumbing systems. Measuring 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 2 inches in overall length, it features male threaded ends on both sides for direct engagement with standard female-threaded fittings and valves. Red brass construction conforms to ASTM B687-88/B456 material specification, delivering solid corrosion resistance against water, salt water, acids, minerals, and peaty soils. The relative softness of the metal allows it to form a tight seal under proper thread engagement and simplifies installation across a range of pipe applications.
This nipple is suited for commercial plumbing, OEM equipment assembly, and piping systems carrying water, oil, gas, or steam. The seamless process eliminates weld seams, which reduces weak points in pressurized service. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting in supply lines, distribution manifolds, equipment connections, and transition assemblies where a short close-length extension is needed between two threaded ports. It is packaged 10 per box, making it practical for job-lot purchases on larger installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation nipple for Schedule 40 threaded piping systems in commercial plumbing, water, oil, gas, and steam service applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off system pressure and drain the line before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before hand-tightening, then wrench-tighten to achieve a leak-free seal without over-torquing the brass threads. Inspect the connection for leaks after restoring system pressure.
