Installation requires a certified pipe welder following applicable welding procedures for 316L stainless steel, typically per ASME B31.3 or B31.1 process and power piping codes. Isolate and depressurize the piping system fully before cutting into any existing line. Purge the interior of stainless steel fittings with inert gas during welding to prevent oxidation on the weld root. Do not use carbon steel tools or wire brushes on stainless steel surfaces, as contamination can initiate corrosion.
