The MERIT BRASS 01413-4816 is a Schedule 10 eccentric reducer fitting designed for piping systems that require an offset centerline transition between two pipe sizes. Constructed from 304L stainless steel, this fitting connects a 3-inch pipe to a 1-inch pipe using butt weld end connections on both ends. The eccentric profile keeps one flat side aligned, which is critical for maintaining proper drainage slope and preventing air pockets in liquid lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in process piping, industrial fluid systems, and commercial plumbing applications where corrosion resistance and weld-quality joints are required.
This eccentric reducer is suited for commercial and industrial piping installations where a flat-bottom alignment is needed to prevent liquid accumulation at the transition point. The 304L low-carbon stainless steel grade is well matched to applications involving mild corrosives, water treatment, food-service, or general process fluid service. Butt weld connections on both ends require field welding and are standard in Schedule 10 piping assemblies where a full-penetration, leak-resistant joint is necessary. The fitting conforms to UNSPSC code 40175300.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 10 stainless steel butt weld piping systems in commercial and industrial applications.
Installation requires a qualified pipefitter or welder certified for stainless steel butt weld work. Depressurize and drain the piping system fully before cutting in the fitting. Follow applicable codes including ASME B31.1 or B31.3 for process and power piping as required by the installation type. Use appropriate purge gas backing during welding to protect the inside weld surface from oxidation.
