The MERIT ABRASIVES OLD08834167103 is a coated quick-change abrasive disc designed for aggressive stock removal, weld blending, and deburring in metal fabrication and woodworking applications. Measuring 1.5 inches in diameter with a 60-grit medium-grade zirconia alumina abrasive surface, this disc is built for handheld disc sanders using the Type R (Power-Lock) attaching system. The polyester Y-weight backing delivers high durability under load, and the self-lubricating treatment helps cut fast while reducing heat buildup during sustained grinding. Licensed HVAC techs, plumbers, metalworkers, and fabricators rely on this type of disc for precision surface prep work.
This disc is rated for use on 300 series stainless steel, 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, fiberglass and composites, hard and soft carbon steels, hard woods, and soft woods. The flexible backing conforms to irregular surfaces, making it well suited for weld seam blending and contour grinding. It is compatible with handheld disc sanders using the Type R quick-change system. Each package contains one disc, sold in a minimum order quantity of 100 units.
