The MERIT ABRASIVES 69957399780 is a Power-Lock Type 1 quick-change abrasive disc designed for handheld disc sanders used in metal fabrication and finishing work. The disc measures 2 inches in diameter and cuts at 120 grit, placing it in the fine grade range. It features aluminum oxide abrasive bonded to a rigid X-weight 2-ply polyester backing, which resists tearing and extends service life under repeated use. Maximum operating speed is 30,000 RPM. The coated construction delivers a faster cut rate compared to standard single-ply backing, making it well suited for deburring, surface cleaning, and detail finishing on metal components. Licensed tradespeople in fabrication, maintenance, and general metalworking install and use this disc type routinely.
This disc is intended for use on a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals including 300 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and titanium. It is part of the Merit Series R766 line and attaches via the Type P Power-Lock system, compatible with TP (Type I) quick-change mandrels used on handheld disc sanders. Typical applications include weld deburring, light stock removal, surface prep before coating, and detailing work in both shop and field environments.

Follow applicable ANSI B7 safety standards and the disc manufacturer guidelines for abrasive product handling and storage.
