The MERIT ABRASIVES 69957399776 is a 2-inch coated quick-change abrasive disc designed for handheld disc sanders in metal fabrication and finishing work. It uses aluminum oxide grain at 50 grit (coarse grade) bonded to a Y-weight 2-ply polyester backing, delivering rigid support and a fast cut rate on moderately demanding grinding and blending tasks. The Power-Lock Type 1 (Type P) attachment system allows fast disc swaps without tools. A special grain coating extends disc life compared to standard uncoated abrasives. Maximum rated speed is 30,000 RPM. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators in industrial, shop, and field settings rely on this disc for consistent stock removal and weld blending.
This disc is suited for stock removal, surface prep, and weld blending on a wide range of metals. Rated material applications include 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, and Titanium. It is designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with a TP (Type I) quick-change attachment system. The coarse 50-grit cut makes it most effective for aggressive material removal rather than finish work. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 100 units.

Installation and disc changes should be performed by qualified operators familiar with abrasive tool safety. Ensure the sander is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing a disc. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM maximum rating of the disc before use. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and follow applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels.
