The MERIT ABRASIVES 69957399759 is a quick-change abrasive disc engineered for high-speed surface finishing on metal workpieces. Built on a rigid X-weight 2-ply polyester backing, the disc carries a 240-grit aluminum oxide grain coating rated for operation up to 40,000 RPM. At 1 inch in diameter, it mounts via a Power-Lock Type P (TP / Type I) attachment system and is sized for handheld disc sanders used in tight-clearance deburring, cleaning, and detailing work. The brown coated construction delivers a fast cut rate and extended service life compared to lighter-backed alternatives. Licensed tradespeople and metalworking technicians are the primary installers and users of this disc.
This disc is intended for use on 300 Series stainless steel, brass, bronze, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and titanium. Its very fine 240-grit grade makes it well suited to finish-stage deburring, light cleaning passes, and surface detailing rather than aggressive stock removal. It is compatible with handheld disc sanders accepting the Type P quick-change attachment interface. The 1-inch format is commonly used on pneumatic or electric die grinders and inline sanders in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field service environments.
Designed for handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type P (TP / Type I) quick-change attachment interface. Rated for use on 300 Series stainless steel, brass, bronze, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and titanium substrates.
Disc installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified metalworking technician or abrasives-trained tradesperson. Power down and disconnect the tool from its air or electrical supply before mounting or removing the disc. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 40,000 RPM maximum rating marked on the disc before operating. Inspect the disc and quick-change button for cracks or damage prior to each use and do not operate a damaged disc.
