The MERIT ABRASIVES 69957399709 is a 2-inch quick-change coated abrasive disc designed for use with TR (Type III) and Type R power-lock attachment systems. Built on an X-weight, 2-ply cloth and polyester backing, this rigid disc carries 60-grit aluminum oxide abrasive grain and is rated for handheld disc sanders operating up to 30,000 RPM. The medium-grit construction makes it well suited for deburring, surface cleaning, and detailing work on stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals where consistent stock removal and surface finish are required. Licensed tradespeople and skilled metalworkers rely on this series for its durable backing and predictable cut rate.
This disc is used in light industrial, fabrication, and maintenance applications where quick disc changes reduce downtime. Typical install scenarios include handheld disc sander work on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard and soft carbon steels, and titanium. The Power-Lock Type 3 attachment system allows rapid disc swaps without tools. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 100 units, making it appropriate for shop stock or service fleet replenishment.
Compatible with handheld disc sanders equipped with TR (Type III) or Type R quick-change attachment systems. Rated for use on 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and titanium.
This disc is installed and replaced by machinists, metal fabricators, or maintenance technicians using a TR or Type R mandrel on a handheld disc sander. Before disc changes, power down and disconnect the tool from its power source. Confirm the spindle speed of the host tool does not exceed the 30,000 RPM disc rating before operation. Inspect the backing for damage before each use and do not use a disc that shows signs of delamination or tearing.
