The MERIT ABRASIVES 69957399694 is a coated quick-change abrasive disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal surfaces. Built on a rigid, Y-weight, 2-ply cloth and polyester backing, this disc handles the demands of deburring, cleaning, and detailing on stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, titanium, and both hard and soft carbon steels. At 36 grit, it falls into the very coarse to extra coarse range, making it the right choice when fast stock removal is the priority. It mounts via a Power-Lock Type R attaching system and is rated to a maximum of 30,000 RPM for safe, high-speed operation on handheld disc sanders.
This disc is suited for metal fabrication, welding prep, and surface conditioning work across a wide range of materials. Common applications include weld bead cleanup on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, edge deburring on aluminum and brass components, and initial surface preparation before finer finishing steps. The 1.5-inch diameter makes it practical for tight radii, contoured surfaces, and detail work that larger discs cannot reach. It is part of the R766 series and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 100 units per order.
Compatible with handheld disc sanders that accept a Power-Lock Type R quick-change attaching system. Material applications include 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, and Titanium.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the tool powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM maximum rating of this disc before use. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and replace immediately if cracks, tears, or delamination are observed. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive equipment.
