The MERIT ABRASIVES 69957399628 is a Power-Lock Type 2 quick-change disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metals and alloys. The disc measures 1.5 inches in diameter and carries a 50-grit aluminum oxide abrasive, placing it firmly in the coarse grade range. It is backed by a rigid, X-weight two-ply cloth and polyester construction that resists tearing and flex under load. Rated to 30,000 RPM, it is designed for use with handheld disc sanders in fabrication, maintenance, and finishing environments. HVAC, plumbing, and general metal fabrication technicians reach for this disc when deburring, cleaning, and detailing small-diameter workpieces.
This disc suits applications on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard and soft carbon steels, and titanium. The coarse 50-grit cut is well-matched to initial deburring, surface prep, and light stock removal on tubing, fittings, and sheet metal components. The rigid cloth backing maintains consistent contact on curved and flat surfaces without loading up quickly, making it practical for repeated short-cycle passes in tight access areas. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order of 100 units per purchase.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with a Power-Lock Type S quick-change mounting system. Rated for material removal on 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, and Titanium.
Disc installation and removal is performed by engaging or releasing the Power-Lock Type S button mechanism — no tools are required for disc changes. Before mounting or removing the disc, power down the sander and allow the spindle to come to a complete stop. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM rating marked on the disc. Inspect the disc for cracks or delamination before each use and discard any disc showing visible damage.
