The MERIT ABRASIVES 69957399602 is a quick-change coated abrasive disc designed for high-speed material removal on metal, weld preparation, and surface conditioning work. Built on a rigid polyester backing with a Y-weight rating, this disc uses aluminum oxide grain bonded to the substrate for consistent cutting action across its 0.75-inch diameter. It is rated to 40,000 RPM, making it suitable for high-speed die grinders and rotary tools used in fabrication, maintenance, and repair environments. The 36-grit designation places it in the very coarse category, appropriate for aggressive stock removal rather than finishing passes. The Power-Lock Type S attaching system allows fast one-handed disc changes without tools.
This disc is used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and field service environments where small-diameter abrasive discs are needed for tight-access grinding and surface prep. The 0.75-inch size is suited for work in confined areas where larger discs cannot reach. Typical applications include deburring, weld blending, rust removal, and prep work on steel and other ferrous substrates. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 300 units, making it a standard consumable stocking item for shops with ongoing abrasive use.
Designed for use with quick-change die grinders and rotary tools accepting a Power-Lock Type S attaching system. Maximum operating speed is 40,000 RPM; the tool must not exceed this rating.
Installation of quick-change abrasive discs should be performed by a qualified operator following the tool and abrasive manufacturer guidelines. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and never operate above the rated maximum RPM of 40,000. Ensure the tool is powered off and disconnected from the air or electrical supply before changing discs. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye and face protection during grinding operations.
