The MERIT ABRASIVES 66623340037 is a 2-inch quick-change disc designed for surface conditioning and finishing in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a high-loft nylon fiber non-woven construction, this disc delivers consistent cut rates and extended service life compared to standard woven discs. The Type S Power-Lock attachment system allows fast, tool-free disc changes on compatible rotary tools. Rated to 20,000 RPM maximum, it is suited for medium-grade material removal and surface prep work. Clean Bond resin technology helps prevent smearing and loading on finished surfaces.
This disc is intended for use on die grinders, inline grinders, straight grinders, and handheld disc sanders. It is well suited for surface conditioning, blending, and light deburring on a range of metals including 300 and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, and fiberglass or composite materials. The flexible polyester and nylon web backing conforms to contoured surfaces, making it useful in both flat and irregular geometry finishing tasks. Fabricators, maintenance welders, and metalworking technicians are the primary users of this disc format.
Designed for use with die grinders, inline grinders, straight grinders, and handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type S Power-Lock quick-change arbor. Compatible workpiece materials include 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, fiberglass and composites, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels.
Installation is performed by a metalworking technician or maintenance professional using a Type S Power-Lock quick-change tool. Before mounting or removing a disc, ensure the grinder or die grinder is fully powered off and the spindle has come to a complete stop. Verify that the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc maximum RPM rating before use. Wear appropriate eye and face protection per ANSI Z87.1 and follow applicable shop safety standards when operating any abrasive disc.
