The MERIT ABRASIVES 66623340036 is a quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface preparation and finishing work on metals and composites. Built to the Roloc Type R attachment system, it mounts and releases quickly on compatible die grinders and inline grinders without tools. The disc measures 1.5 inches in diameter and carries an 80-grit aluminum oxide abrasive bonded to a flexible polyester backing using Clean Bond resin technology. That resin system delivers smear-free finishes, which matters when working on stainless steel or titanium where surface contamination causes problems. The medium-grade, high-loft nylon fiber construction extends disc life while maintaining a consistent cut rate across the workpiece.
This disc is suited for moderate material removal and surface prep on a range of metals and hard materials. Listed material applications include 300 Series and 400 Series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, super alloys, titanium, and fiberglass and composites. Compatible machines include die grinders, handheld disc sanders, inline grinders, and straight grinders. The small 1.5-inch diameter makes it effective in tight spaces and contoured surfaces where larger discs cannot reach. It ships individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 100 units.
Designed for use with die grinders, handheld disc sanders, inline grinders, and straight grinders equipped with a Type R quick-change attachment system. Rated for use on 300 Series stainless, 400 Series stainless, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, super alloys, titanium, and fiberglass and composites.
Installation is performed by trade professionals or skilled operators using compatible Type R quick-change grinders. Ensure the grinder is powered off and disconnected from its air or power source before mounting or removing the disc. Confirm the spindle speed of the tool does not exceed the maximum RPM rating of the disc before operation. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required when operating abrasive grinding equipment.
