The MERIT ABRASIVES 08834181757 is a full taper cartridge roll designed for deburring, blending, and finishing work in tight contours, slots, and internal surfaces. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive at 120 grit, this roll delivers consistent fine-grade cutting action suited to metal fabrication, weld blending, and surface prep on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tapered profile allows the roll to reach into restricted areas where flat or straight abrasive media cannot. At a maximum diameter of 0.5 inches, it fits standard mandrel-style die grinders and rotary tools used in production and maintenance environments. Installed by machinists, fabricators, and tool-and-die technicians.
This cartridge roll is suited for fine finishing passes on aluminum, steel, stainless, and similar materials in both shop and field applications. The full taper geometry is commonly used when working inside bores, contoured cavities, and tube ends where controlled material removal and surface refinement are required. At 120 grit, it is appropriate for pre-polish prep, light burr removal, and blending weld seams to a smooth finish. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 100 units per order.
Designed for use with standard mandrel-style die grinders and rotary tools that accept cartridge rolls up to 0.5 inches maximum diameter. Confirm mandrel shank size and RPM rating before installation.
Cartridge rolls are installed by threading onto a tapered or straight mandrel secured in a die grinder or similar rotary tool. Ensure the tool is powered off and the mandrel is properly tightened before use. Do not exceed the maximum RPM rating marked on the abrasive or tool. Inspect the roll for damage or wear before each use and replace when abrasive material is depleted to avoid mandrel contact with the workpiece.
