The MERIT ABRASIVES 08834180329 is a straight cartridge roll designed for precision deburring, blending, and surface finishing on metal and other hard materials. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive in a fine grade at 120 grit, this roll delivers consistent stock removal and smooth surface finishes on inside diameters, contoured edges, and hard-to-reach areas. At 1/2 inch in diameter, it mounts easily on a mandrel and fits standard rotary die grinders and air tools used in fabrication and maintenance work. Machinists, tool and die technicians, welders, and metalworking professionals install these rolls for finishing bores, slots, ports, and weld beads where flat abrasives cannot reach.
This cartridge roll is suited for light-to-medium material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in both production and repair applications. The 120 grit fine grade is appropriate for finishing passes after rougher grits have established the surface profile, and for blending transitions between weld zones and base metal. Common applications include aerospace component finishing, mold and die work, automotive port work, and general metal fabrication where controlled surface finish is required.
Designed for use with standard straight cartridge roll mandrels that accept 1/2 inch diameter rolls, compatible with air-powered and electric rotary die grinders commonly used in metalworking and fabrication applications.
Installation is performed by metalworking technicians or machinists using a compatible mandrel and rotary die grinder or flexible shaft machine. Power down and disconnect the tool from its air or electrical supply before mounting or removing the roll. Secure the roll firmly onto the mandrel per the mandrel manufacturer's instructions before operating. Inspect the roll for tears or loosening during use and replace immediately if the abrasive cloth separates from the roll core.
