The MERIT ABRASIVES 08834166305 is a 2-inch quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing on metal and composite materials. Built with aluminum oxide grain bonded in resin to non-woven nylon fiber backing, it delivers a smooth cut rate and a consistent, uniform surface finish without aggressive stock removal. The Very Fine grade makes it suited for final-pass finishing and light deburring. Rated to 30,000 RPM, it attaches via a Type R quick-change system and is compatible with TR (Type III) arbors. This disc is rated for use on 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Fiberglass and Composites, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Super Alloys, Titanium, and Tool Steels. It mounts on die grinders, handheld disc sanders, inline grinders, and straight grinders, making it practical across both bench and in-field applications. The flexible non-woven backing conforms to irregular or contoured surfaces, which is useful when finishing weld seams, transitions, or formed sheet metal.

Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, or metalworkers using the tool's quick-change spindle. Verify the tool's no-load RPM does not exceed the disc's 30,000 RPM maximum rating before mounting. Power down and disconnect or lock out the tool before changing discs. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not use a disc that shows tears, delamination, or visible wear through the backing.
